Until when the suspension is extended – Exceptions

New Notams including the presentation of the ban on flights for specific destinations abroad issued by the Civil Protection Service.

The suspension of foreign flights to and from Italy from to Rome airport, Naples airport, Spain from/to alicante airportBarcelona airport the United Kingdom, the Netherlands amsterdam airport, Turkey, Albania and Northern Macedonia is extended. At the same time, the temporary ban on entry into the country of non-European citizens remains in force.

In particular, with the aim of protecting passengers and citizens from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) is announcing the following air directives (5 new Notams in total):

– The suspension of all passenger services to and from Greece to Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands is extended until 31 May 2020.

– The provisional ban on flights to and from Albania and Northern Macedonia is extended until June 14, 2020 at 23:59.

– The ban on all flights to the Greek territory in respect of Turkey is extended until June 14, 2020 at 23:59

– International flight arrivals/departures are permitted only at Athens airport of Eleftherios Venizelos (AIA), this aviation directive shall be valid until 31 May 2020 at 23:59.

– The temporary ban on entry into the country of non – European citizens shall remain in force until 31 May 2020 at 23.59.

The CAA points out that for domestic flights, which are normally performed so far but in a limited number, a phased return of frequencies and connections is expected as of Monday 18 May due to the lifting of a ban on movements to the territory of the whole country.

Exceptions

Temporary suspension excludes cargo flights, sanitary flights, humanitarian flights, ferry flights, state flights, emergency flights, military flights, Turkey flights, Frontex flights, refueling flights The National Health System of our country and the repatriation flights of Greek Citizens.

The following exceptions shall also apply to the temporary ban on entry into the country of non-European citizens: Family members of European citizens, citizens of Schengen countries, health workers, third country citizens who have a long-term visa permit in a European country and a Schengen country, government, diplomatic, military, humanitarian personnel, aircraft crews and those non-European citizens who have obtained a license for their trip from a Greek consulate.
